This policy explains what information JF Massage & Bodywork ("JF Bodywork," "we," "us") collects, why we collect it, and what we do with it. It covers this website, our online booking and intake forms, our emails, and our text messages.
What we collect
When you book or come in for a session. Your name, email address, phone number, and appointment history. On the intake form, the health information you give us: injuries, symptoms, medical history, medications, and what you want to work on. During and after a session, our own notes about the work we did.
When you pay. Our payment processors handle card transactions. We see the last four digits, the card type, and whether the payment went through. We never see or store your full card number.
When you use this website. Squarespace, which hosts this site, records standard visit data: IP address, browser and device type, pages viewed, and the site that referred you. Cookies make the site work and tell us which pages people read. You can block cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may stop working.
When you contact us. Anything you write in an email, a text, a contact form, or a review.
Why we collect it
To schedule and confirm your appointments. To work on you safely, which is what the health history is for. To take payment. To send you the appointment reminders, follow-ups, and offers you asked for. To answer your questions. To keep the records North Carolina requires a licensed massage and bodywork therapist to keep.
Your health information
Your intake form and session notes are confidential. We do not release them to anyone, including family members, employers, coaches, or other providers, without your written authorization, unless the law requires it.
JF Bodywork does not bill health insurance electronically and is not a HIPAA covered entity. We treat your health information as confidential regardless, which is what licensure requires of a massage and bodywork therapist.
Text messaging and mobile information
If you check the SMS consent box on our intake form, we send you text messages about your sessions, rebooking, openings from cancellations, and occasional offers. You can reply STOP at any time to opt out, or HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of booking or receiving any service.
Your mobile information will not be sold or shared with third parties for promotional or marketing purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties. We will not share your opt-in to an SMS campaign with any third party for purposes unrelated to providing you with the services of that campaign.
We may share your personal data, including your SMS opt-in or consent status, with third parties that help us provide our messaging services, including platform providers such as Telnyx LLC, phone companies, and other vendors who assist in delivering text messages.
Full text message program terms are at jfbodywork.com/terms.
If you sign up for our newsletter or check the email box on the intake form, we send you practice news, availability, and occasional offers. Every email has an unsubscribe link at the bottom. Unsubscribing from the newsletter does not stop appointment confirmations or reminders, which are part of the service you booked.
Who we share information with
We use outside companies to run the practice. Each one receives only what it needs to do its job:
- Squarespace, for this website
- Acuity Scheduling, for booking and intake forms
- Square and Stripe, for payments and gift certificates
- Mailchimp, for email
- Telnyx and mobile carriers, for text messages
- Google, for our business listing and reviews
We also release information when the law requires it, such as a subpoena or court order, or when it is needed to protect someone from harm.
What we do not do
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We do not share your phone number, your text message consent, or your health information with anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Client records and session notes are kept as long as North Carolina requires a licensed therapist to keep them, and longer where there is a reason to. Text message consent records are kept at least four years. Marketing lists are kept until you unsubscribe.
Your choices
You can ask us what we have on file about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@jfbodywork.com. We may need to keep some records even after a deletion request, such as treatment notes and payment records, where the law requires it.
To stop text messages, reply STOP to any message. To stop marketing emails, use the unsubscribe link.
Children
This website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their information online. If you believe a child has given us information, email info@jfbodywork.com and we will delete it.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version goes up on this page with a new date at the top.
